About us

We started because we couldn't find honest food

SYRAFresh began with a simple frustration: everything on the shelf said pure, and almost nothing tasted like it. We are not open yet, and we are in no hurry to be — the point is to get the sourcing right before we ask anyone to pay for it.

The beginning

A jar of ghee that tasted like nothing

Somewhere between the village kitchen and the supermarket aisle, our food quietly changed. Ghee became a blend. Honey became syrup. Oil became a solvent-extracted, deodorised liquid with no smell at all. The labels kept saying pure, because nobody was checking.

SYRAFresh exists to close that gap. We buy from the people who actually make the food — the family that still churns butter by hand, the gatherer who climbs for wild comb, the farmer who refuses to polish his dal. We pay them properly, we don't dilute what they give us, and we tell you exactly where it came from.

We are not open yet, and we are being deliberate about that. Right now we are tasting, comparing and choosing what deserves to carry our name. It is slow work, and it is exactly why a request from you matters more at this stage than it ever will again.

What we promise

Three rules we won't bend

We name our source

If we can't tell you which farm, forest or family a product came from, we don't sell it. Anonymity is where adulteration hides.

We keep the slow method

Bilona churning, wooden-ghani pressing and stone grinding cost us more and yield us less. They are also the entire point.

We add nothing

No preservatives, no colour, no fillers, no palm oil, no "nature identical" flavour. The ingredient list stays boringly short.

How we choose

What a product goes through before it reaches you

Nothing gets listed because it looked good in a supplier catalogue. Each item passes the same four checks:

  • We visit or video-call the maker and watch the actual process, not a showroom.
  • We taste it blind against two or three alternatives, including the market leader.
  • We ask for lab reports where they matter — adulteration in ghee and honey, aflatoxin in nuts, pesticide residue in grains.
  • We buy a small batch at our own cost and live with it in our kitchens for a month.

What we're still working out

Being honest about the unfinished parts: our final product list, our delivery radius beyond Hyderabad, and online payments. All three are in progress, and early customers will hear about each change first.

Help us decide what to stock

You are reading this before we've opened, which means your list still shapes ours. Tell us the three things you'd buy from us every month — or follow along in the journal while we work it out.
